At Wine Travel Experts, people matter.
We want to learn all about you; your likes and dislikes, your hobbies, your passions, what food you like, how you like to travel, where you have been on previous holidays. All of this will help us to design the holiday that best works for you.
If we know all about you, we also want you to know all about us and our story.
We are a dedicated team of four. Two couples. One couple living in the UK and the other living in South Africa. We are united by a love of travel, wine and having fun. Life is too short to not laugh every day. This love of what we do means that our holiday designs really do come from the heart.

Abi has over 20 years in the wine industry, buying, selling and marketing wine. Abi and Helen became lifelong friends when they worked together nearly 20 years ago. Now married to Matt and living in South Africa, Abi has travelled extensively promoting South African wine. Abi is the manager of the Chenin Blanc Association of South Africa and also of PIWOSA (a collective of 11 Premium Independent Wineries of South Africa). Quite simply, there is no one better placed than Abi for arranging bespoke, breathtaking tours of the Cape winelands.
Matt has over 15 years experience in the travel industry, specialising in experiential travel. If you want to have an adventure on your holiday, then Matt will use his industry knowledge and passion for travel to arrange a truly unforgettable holiday for you. Our nominated Chief of Happiness, Matt has an infectious zest for life. As an avid mountain biker, Matt is the go-to person for top tips on exploring South Africa on two wheels - whether you're cruising through vineyards or tackling the dramatic mountain trails across the Western Cape.
Helen is an award-winning wine professional with over 20 years of global experience in the wine trade. Her passion for discovering amazing wines has taken her across the globe, including living in New Zealand to harvest grapes and make wine. Extensively travelled across six continents, Helen’s knowledge of world travel is a real strength. From exploring the great wall of China, to camping out in the Ecuadorian rainforest, to solo backpack travel across Sri Lanka, Helen’s happy place is combining incredible travel experiences with delicious wines. She will use this passion to create bespoke global holidays for you.
Mike grew up on the East Coast of South Africa and has travelled extensively through the country. Now living in the UK with Helen, Mike is well placed to provide insider tips and advice for people wanting to explore the Zulu heartlands of South Africa and the stunning wildlife centres in Kwazulu Natal. Mike is an expert in the lesser known safari excursions in Eastern South Africa. If you speak to Mike, be sure to ask him about the boat trip with hippos - Mike’s advice, protect your nose, hippos are incredibly smelly!
Having worked at an Executive level in the premium hotel industry, Mike has incredible knowledge of luxury travel and will ensure that every detail is taken into account when planning your holiday, ensuring your time is spent making memories that last a lifetime.
